KFVS: Missourians rally at state capitol against paid sick leave repeal

Thousands across the country are rallying against the current administration, including in cities across Missouri.

The protests took place on July 17, the fifth anniversary of John Lewis’ death. The civil rights activist is remembered for his fight for more voting access. Sue Rogers with Respect Missouri Voters said that’s more relevant than ever today in Missouri.

“Legislators stood up in the House and Senate and said, ‘Oh, well they didn’t really know what they were voting on, we should fix it for them.’ As if,” Rogers said. “We read. We’re not stupid. We talk to each other.”
