KFVS: Town hall held to protect Missouri’s ballot initiative process

Voters in Butler County gathered Tuesday night for the 13th of at least 25 planned town halls which organizers say are meant to protect your vote.

Respect Voters Coalition heard from people in Poplar Bluff on March 11 - one of over two dozen town halls to gather input as part of its campaign to defend Missouri’s ballot initiative process.

Many people attended the event to hear a presentation by volunteer Kris Savage from Jefferson City.

She said this initiative aims to accomplish three main goals: protect the citizen initiative process, protect from legislative interference and ensure the ballot language is clear.
