With our town halls just around the corner, we
are grounded by a simple truth: real change begins with a single
conversation. That initial, one-on-one connection is the spark that
brings people to the table, turning curious neighbors into the volunteers who
power this movement.
Right now, we have a massive
opportunity to expand our reach across Missouri. If you’ve been waiting for the
right moment to get involved, start by attending a town
hall. It is the perfect place to reconnect to see how you can make a
difference.
But to win, we need to
think bigger than ourselves. We know that digital ads don't move people to
action. Real impact happens at coffee shops and kitchen tables when you say,
"This matters, and I want you there with me." Because personal invitations are
our most effective tool, we are asking everyone to step up as
a Community Ambassador. By inviting your network to join,
you aren’t just filling a room—you are finding the new volunteers who will help
us succeed.
To support you as a
Community Ambassador, we’ve developed an outreach toolkit for each event with printable
flyers, social media graphics and captions, and email templates to help you
spread the word.
Let’s fill these town halls
the Missouri way: one honest conversation at a time!

Columbia Day of
Action
Days of Action bring large
numbers of volunteers together to collect signatures in high-traffic areas
across the state. Volunteers will meetup in one location for a day of gathering.
We'll start with a brief campaign update, pick up supplies, assign locations,
and head out to collect signatures. Then, we'll reconvene at the end of the day
for a debrief, notary session, and fun prizes.

We’re kicking things off
January 18, from 12–4 p.m. in Columbia, Missouri with notaries

of Action to come.

It’s 2026: Double Check
Signature Dates!
We’ve all written the wrong
year at least once, especially in January. But for petitions, that small mistake
can lead to signatures being disqualified. Please be extra careful to make sure
everyone signing writes “2026” for the date

Amanda Hagedorn
has been volunteering with RMV for five months. While she’s supported
charitable organizations and women’s health causes in the past, this is the
first time she’s been able to use her professional copywriting and marketing
background as a volunteer. Amanda works with the Communications team on the
newsletter and is excited to help spread the word about RMV’s work. This is also
her first experience with signature gathering.
Amanda has focused on
collecting signatures from friends and coworkers, and she encourages anyone who
feels nervous to start with their own network. She also recommends signing up
for organized events where other volunteers are present. “Our volunteers are
incredibly kind and helpful,” she says. Practicing a short pitch ahead of time
and taking advantage of the buddy program can also make a big difference.
When she’s not volunteering,
Amanda enjoys reading, playing the saxophone, and spending time with her cat—who
RMV supporters may recognize from a recent social media feature.
Thank you,
Amanda!
