Timeline Updates from the Policy Summit
The results are in! With an overwhelming vote of 104 Respect MO Voters volunteers attending the Virtual Policy Summit sessions, we will strengthen and file new versions of our policy to incorporate input from our expanded attorney team and coalition partners who will potentially bring more volunteers and support for our amendment.
Legend
Option A: File a new policy with input from new partner groups and attorneys (98.1%)
Option B: Gather signatures on a version that has already been filed (1.9%)
What does this mean for our campaign?
We will start gathering signatures together around the end of August!
We will gather signatures for the strongest version of our policy with input from our dedicated volunteers, expert attorneys, and coalition partners.
We’ll send out a survey for input from onboarded volunteers before picking a final version. This will allow us to start ASAP.
More time to recruit gatherers and train them, continue fundraising, and build out our volunteer regional field leadership teams.
We will still have enough time to gather signatures, but the timeline will shift.
We will STILL be on the 2026 ballot.
Our core mission is still the same: together, we will BAN Missouri politicians from
Overturning initiatives that voters have already passed.
Attacking citizens' ability to use the initiative process.
Deceiving voters with confusing ballot language.
What’s next?
We keep working to build up our field teams, recruit signature gatherers and notaries, fundraise, and spread the word. Once we have our new policy versions returned from the SoS, and new polling on that ballot language, YOU will have another opportunity to give your input on which version we will gather signatures for.
Remember, we were able to hire these attorneys and get input from partners because of YOUR HARD WORK. Others now recognize that our grassroots movement is a force to take seriously, and it's starting to show!
If you haven’t already, sign up NOW to help with our signature-gathering effort. Many roles needed.
We have a lot of work to do. Let’s go save democracy.
Onwards,
