Our amazing team of volunteers are out spreading the word and telling voters how important it is to VOTE NO on Amendment 4 by August 4. Election Day will be here before we know it, and early voting opens July 21. The work we do in the next 3 weeks could determine the fate of our freedom to petition in Missouri. |

This past week, we went door-to-door across the state and voters are very receptive to our message. Communities are getting to know and trust Respect MO Voters, thanks to our record-setting, volunteer-powered signature gathering campaign.
Because of the pavement you pounded and our intrepid Outreach Dept., we're being invited to speak as the authority on Amendment 4 at community meetings big and small. |

Voting in our state is simple, whichever side earns the most votes wins. But when politicians don’t get the outcomes that they want, instead of enacting popular policies and representing the will of the majority, they try to change the rules and take away voter power.
Here’s an example – a voter approved tax cap that passed in 2016. The measure won by more than 375,000 votes statewide. But it lost the 1st Congressional District — anchored in St. Louis and the northern suburbs of St. Louis County — by roughly 31,500 votes.
Under Amendment 4, that single district would have blocked a measure approved by a clear majority of 57% of Missouri voters. This is just ONE example from the last 10 years.
Under Amendment 4, initiatives put on the ballot by the people, for the people, and even supported by the majority of the people are almost guaranteed to lose. |

Questions about constitutional law? You might want to ask RB Burford. She practiced government law for most of her career as a lawyer and these days even gives presentations on constitutional law.
But it's not all theory to RB. She also worked her extensive network in Warrensburg to pull in 150 signatures, and helped get boxes out of trucks to deliver hers and the rest of our 360,000 signatures to the Secretary of State on May 3. She even helped film the event.
Thanks for supplying legal expertise, RB. And plenty of elbow grease! |
