FRIDAY: RESPECT MISSOURI VOTERS VOLUNTEERS RALLY TO
SUPPORT LAWSUIT AGAINST SECRETARY OF STATE
Respect Missouri Voters will hold a "Let MO Vote" rally following the filing of Harris v. Hoskins, a lawsuit challenging Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins’ attempt to block the ballot initiative from going to a public vote.
WHAT: Rally to defend Missouri’s citizen initiative process and the constitutional right of voters to decide issues directly at the ballot box.
WHEN: Tomorrow, Friday, August 7, 12:00 p.m.
WHO: Respect Missouri Voters Campaign volunteers and leaders.
WHERE: Outside the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office, 600 W Main St., Jefferson City, Missouri
VISUALS: Volunteers waving American flags, and signs reading "Yes on 6," "Let the People Decide," "Let MO Vote," and "Respect Missouri Voters."
WHY: Respect Missouri Voters supporters are gathering to defend Missouri’s citizen initiative process and ensure that the voices of voters are respected by Secretary of State Hoskins. Coalition leaders will discuss the importance of protecting the initiative process and ensuring that more than 367,000 Missourians who signed the petition have their voices heard.
The Respect MO Voters Constitutional amendment would:
Require ballot summaries to be clear, unbiased, fair, accurate, and easy to understand.
Preserve our century-old constitutional freedom to petition.
Make it harder for politicians to change or undo what the people have already voted on.
