Volunteers and leaders holding up or wearing "I Voted" stickers and by Vote No On 4 lawn signs. |
What a week it has been for the fight to protect the voice of every Missourian. On Tuesday, voters sent a resounding message by decisively defeating Amendment 4, with a staggering 80% voting NO. Every county across Missouri firmly rejected this power grab. But the work to defend our citizen initiative process is far from over.
That same day, Secretary of State Denny Hoskins openly defied the will of 367,000 Missourians by blocking the Respect Missouri Voters amendment from the ballot.
Let’s be crystal clear: politicians don't get to throw out hundreds of thousands of citizen signatures just because they disagree. On Thursday, we took action, filing a lawsuit challenging this unprecedented abuse of power. We will not allow anyone to discard the constitutional freedoms guaranteed to us. |

Defeating Amendment 4 didn't happen by accident. It happened because our grassroots network stepped up in a massive way.
Between our Respect Missouri Voters canvass launches and joint field operations, dedicated volunteers knocked on 12,622 doors and made thousands of phone calls across the state.
To everyone who hit the streets, called voters, logged actions on the Reach App, and voted NO to protect our voice: Thank you. This victory belongs to you. |
