Signature gatherers at trivia nights and attendees at bingo fundraiser
We have officially hit 160,000 signatures.
The momentum is shifting in our favor, but we must gather signatures faster. With 42 days remaining, we are entering an "All Hands on Deck" phase. We need everyone back in the field gathering signatures. If you took a break over the winter, now is the time to reengage. If you haven’t gathered before, please sign up for a training.
Take your first step back into this campaign by joining our All Hands Volunteer Meeting this Monday, March 9. We’ll have a major announcement regarding additional gathering support that you won’t want to miss.
Have a question or a hurdle? We're holding a live Q&A. Share what's on your mind so we can cover it. SUBMIT A QUESTION

Mega Canvass Weekend: March 21- March 22.
This is our biggest "All Hands" push yet. Volunteers across Missouri, in every region, will go door-to-door simultaneously to reach voters at home. We will meet at central regional hubs for training and pair you with a buddy before heading out to gather signatures.
Can you commit to 20 signatures a week?
We know what to do. Now it’s time to do it. Look up events, collect around your community, and bring in new volunteers. Together we can do this!
Phone Banking
Did you know?
A higher number of signatures are collected after weekends when we have the most volunteers making calls the week before.
If you want something to do at your lunch hour, join us for Coffee & Calls, our new Tuesday lunchtime phone banking. Pick up the phone and help us get more signature gatherers out there!
Based on what we heard from our volunteers in the field, we made the suggestion that gatherers start leading with one simple line:
"Will you sign this petition to require the language that politicians put on ballots to be clear, fair, and easy to understand so Missourians know exactly what we’re voting on?"
It's so simple and it's working! Volunteers are seeing overwhelmingly more positive reactions when hitting the streets. If you're looking for an easy way to streamline your gathering, try this next time you're out!

Fundraising
Last week we announced our goal of raising $1.2 million by April 30. So many of you have already stepped up in a huge way. Help keep the momentum going and chip in $10 today.
To ensure every signature counts, we need seamless teamwork between signature gatherers and notaries to catch errors.
Remember to review and follow the instructions in this Color Coded Sample Petition. A common error we see is volunteers forgetting to check the “do not” box on their sheets.
Days of Action
Meet at the start location to be assigned a buddy and receive directions for where to gather. Signature Gatherer Training will be available on-the-spot for new volunteers so you can join in right away and be paired with an experienced Qualified Gatherer. Sign up so we can stay connected that day and have supplies ready for you.

Cris Mathews organizes signature gathering events in STL and her team's canvassing efforts. What are her tips for gathering signatures? Simple! Take a deep breath and slow down when talking to people, especially if you feel a little anxious talking to strangers. She also wants people to know that they are doing amazing work and every conversation is valuable, even if you get a "no"! When not volunteering, Cris likes to support local music and art galleries, or read in a hammock at Tower Grove Park.
Keep it up, Cris!
