Everything we are seeing across Missouri shows this August vote on Amendment 4 will be incredibly close. That is why our canvassing, phone banking, and outreach efforts matter so much. In a summer election with lower turnout, every single conversation we have has a huge impact.
That impact is measurable. We know face-to-face canvassing campaigns can shift election outcomes by 3 to 5 percentage points. To win this tight race, we need to continue to scale up our field efforts and cover more neighborhoods. Let's continue to expand our reach to ensure our neighbors commit to Voting No on 4 on August 4.

Passing a Citizen-Led Amendment Is Already Hard. Amendment 4 Makes It Nearly Impossible. |
All of us at Respect Missouri Voters know how hard it is for a citizen-led initiative to get on the ballot. Missourians must gather hundreds of thousands of signatures in 6 out of 8 congressional districts and adhere to strict petition standards.
With Amendment 4, not only will the bar for gathering signatures remain high, but passing initiatives will be nearly impossible. Instead of a statewide majority, Amendment 4 will require a majority in every single district.
Months of campaigning, 300,000+ signatures, “Yes” votes from a majority of the state—all of that would be ignored under Amendment 4. A tiny fraction of voters from just one district could veto the will of the rest of the state. Don’t let that be our future. |

You always want Olivia Sigmund at your table on trivia night: She edits encyclopedias for a living so she knows everything.
That wide learning served her well in her previous role as Regional Field Coordinator in St. Louis. Now, she is stepping up as the new Field Systems and Leadership Manager. Her immediate challenge, she says, is finding a way "...to organize people with different ways of doing things but all with the same goal."
To that end, she vows to lead the statewide effort to defeat Amendment 4 right up to the August 4 election. Glad you're on our team, Olivia! |
